A charity ball sponsored by Brian Fisher & Sons raised £18,000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Staff and customers from Brian Fishers were among 360 guests who attended the Think Pink Ball at Norwich City Football Club’s Carrow Road ground.

The third Think Pink Ball followed on from previous successful events in 2004 and 2006. Brian Fisher has been among the sponsors for all three events, which have now raised a combined total of around £60,000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and the Eastern Daily Press Breast Cancer Appeal.

“Cancer touches countless thousands of lives, so we are obviously pleased to support this excellent evening which does so much to help fight this terrible illness,” said Mr Fisher. “We feel that the ongoing fight against breast cancer is especially relevant to Brian Fisher given that the majority of staff in our workroom are women.”

The Think Pink Ball is run by a group of Norfolk businesswomen who felt compelled to help battle breast cancer after they all had close family and friends affected by the disease.

Special guest at the 2008 ball was Professor Martin Evans, winner of the 2007 Nobel Prize for Medicine, who said: “It is a pleasure to back the work of the Think Pink team and its contribution to the fight against breast cancer. While research is bringing us ever closer to finding solutions to serious diseases like breast cancer, the contribution of fundraisers and their supporters is crucial.”
